Felix Vermeirsch has been composing for solo cello since his teens: most famously his piece ‘Jebel Musa’ which he performed at his YBT recital in the famous Studio 4, Flagey, Brussels in 2021. So it was with pride that YBT commissioned him to compose a piece for our ‘Solo instrument and tape machine’ series, which includes works by Tōru Takemitsu & Jan Haderman.
The result you can witness in this video, expresses a timelessness that is both chilling and yet reassuring at the same time. Enjoy.
