7040 Power Amplifier

Our 7040 power amplifier has been designed to drive every kind of loudspeaker; from our single driver, Model One loudspeakers to the most demanding electrostatic, planar magnetic and multi-way studio monitors, regardless of price or size. 

With the 7040, our ambition was to prove that Bruno Putsey’s ‘perfect’ PURIFI, 7040 class ‘D’ power modules could sound just as enticing, three dimensional and holographic as the best vacuum tube amplifiers, while delivering second to non dynamics, bass control and lifelike midrange. And all in a sleek, understated chassis that ensured silent heat dissipation, with the utmost minimum of interference from internal and resonances of any kind.

Our 7040 power amplifier was born from a challenge that our loudspeaker designer, Harley Lovegrove laid down in one of his YouTube videos in February 2023. His request was for power amplifier designers worldwide to come up with a front end design worthy of Bruno Putseys’ ‘perfect’ 7040, PURIFI amplifier modules.  The main issue was that although the PURIFI module had been very well received, most implementations tended to leave the listener a little emotionally ‘cold’, after the initial ‘wow’.  From a technical point of view, the PURIFI modules, although powerful, had insufficient gain to be used on their own for most pre-amplifier couplings. 

Two and a half years later we are proud to announce that it was our very own Ajay Verma who finally delivered on Harley’s brief!
