A clear natural finish lets solid oak speak for itself. This pair combines flat-sawn and rift-sawn oak, so it shows two characters at once: calm, straight lines and livelier figure in a single pair of enclosures.

A pair with its own character

The grain on both speakers becomes wilder on the sides facing each other, so the pattern builds toward the space between them. On the left speaker the movement is clear. On the right speaker the grain seems to be on the verge of forming a flame, yet stays disciplined and mostly straight. It is a rare balance between the order of rift-sawn grain and the drama of flat-sawn figure, and in a light finish every line stays visible. They are a matched pair, yet each remains a piece of natural timber with its own variations.

A natural listening experience

Like every Model One, this individually numbered pair (S001228 L&R) is designed to reproduce music with naturalness, clarity and realism, whatever the genre. Close your eyes and the loudspeakers disappear, leaving the musicians performing in your listening room, from an intimate voice to a full orchestra.

Each drive cone has a 360-hour run-in on a wide variety of music, then is tested, matched and paired before being fitted in its enclosure and given a final listening test.

Pure engineering. Handcrafted simplicity.

The Model One is a single-driver, floor-standing loudspeaker with an internal front-loaded, quarter-wave Voigt pipe. Its shallow, all-alloy drive cone sits in a substantial 3 cm solid oak enclosure, handcrafted without nails, screws or internal battens. Apart from the silver-plated, copper-cored wiring, terminal posts and carefully selected damping, nothing else sits in the signal path.
