The Last Ship: An almost forgotten masterpiece

Pearl Acoustics - Great Recordings of all time

Like me, you might not have been a big Sting fan, of course there a few tracks and song of his I quite like but this is on a total other level. And yet, almost no one I know seems to have even heard of it. I discovered this incredible work purely by accident. The melodies and arrangements are glorious, the musicianship is superb, the lyrics are the work of a genius, and the recording and engineering is expertly executed. Join me on a journey of discovery.

In this work, Sting explores the industrial might of his childhood past, his childhood and coming of age, his relationship with his father, with lost love, with life itself and eventually death.
